GLADWYNE–– The Gladwyne Acme is scheduled to close February 15th 2018, according to employees at the store. Harriton TV has independently confirmed the closure. As of now, ACME has not publicly provided a reason for the closure. They say they plan to invest in other stores.

According to a company representative, current employees will be able to transfer to other stores in the area.

For many local residents, the store acts as the heart of Gladwyne, occupying about one third of retail space in the small town center.

The upcoming closure will conclude the chain’s fourth year in the building. They originally purchased the site on October 15th in 2015 from A&P, the owners of the ‘SuperFresh’ grocery store brand.
